Celebrating a Decade of Adaptive Kayaking: Cathy’s 120-Mile Kayak Challenge
To celebrate our 10-year anniversary, NDAA adaptive kayaking program manager Cathy Webster is embarking on a personal goal — a 120-mile paddle along the length of Lake Champlain.
This challenging journey, set for late May and early June, is not just a test of endurance but an opportunity to raise awareness about our adaptive kayaking program and honor the remarkable individuals who have joined us over the years. It’s also a tribute to those we have lost along the way, remembering their lasting impact on our community.
It costs $30k/season to offer outings throughout Northern VT and NY. With grants becoming more competitive over the recent years and now federal funding being reduced, this is also a fundraiser. Please share with friends and family to help support our mission of empowering people with disabilities to move under their own power. We are breaking down barriers one paddle at a time!
As we reflect on this incredible journey, we invite you to be part of our future. We are asking for your support in two key ways:
Make a Donation: Your generous donations allow us to continue providing adaptive equipment, program growth, and opportunities for individuals to experience the freedom of kayaking. Please consider supporting us atwww.disabledathletics.org.
Volunteer with Us: We are always looking for volunteers to join us on the water and assist our kayakers. If you’re passionate about making a difference and enjoy being part of an inspiring community, we’d love to have you help us create memorable experiences for our participants.
Participate: If you or anyone you know has a physical disability and would like to get outside and be active, contact us via email: kayak@disabledathletics.org
Thank you for helping us celebrate 10 years of empowerment, adventure, and connection. With your support, we can continue to grow and offer even more individuals the chance to experience the joy and independence that our adaptive kayaking program provides.
Here’s to the next 10 years of exploration and adventure!
