This year the Northeast Disabled Athletic Association has pledged their commitment to Sailors for the Sea’s Clean Regattas Program. Leading up to, during and following this year’s regatta, organizers will be working with Sailors for the Sea to minimize the impact that the event will have on our shores and the seas. This will include anything from keeping the site clear of debris, reducing reliance on plastic bottles and cups, composting and recycling.
We are off to a great start, but we need your help. As a sailor in this event, your actions will be important as we work to reduce our environmental impact. Your choices will make a difference. Here are a few ways you can help during the race:
Keep it Clean – Hold on to any trash or recycling until you can dispose of it properly. If you see any debris on shore or in the lake, please pick it up and dispose of it properly.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle – For example, use fewer water bottles by reusing a single one, and recycle anything that can’t be reused. At every opportunity, try to find a way to reduce your individual impact on the lake.
Compost – During meals we’ll provide a separate bin for compostable materials like paper plates and food scraps.

Thank you for your support of ocean (and lake) conservation!
